Here are our Fall Sports schedules at Parsons Middle School. Come out and support our middle school football, volleyball, girls tennis, and cross country athletes!

Mr. Campmier's Intro to Technology students completed a "15-minute research project" over shop safety and presented their findings to the class. This activity helps students build background knowledge in an unfamiliar subject and lays the groundwork for students to complete a more in-depth safety project next week.

Ms. McCoy's FACS 8 students were working on a team building activity. The Bob Ross puzzle was challenging to start!

The theme at Parsons Middle School this year is "Challenge Accepted." To kick things off, Mrs. Nolting and Mr. Krull told students that the Viking Time classes that were the most engaged this week would get to participate in a tug-of-war competition Friday. Four classes made the cut, and Mr. Hutley's was the end all winner of the tug-of-war competition. They are excited to see students accept next week's challenge and see who the winners will be.

Students in Mr. Campmier's communications class laughed and had a blast as they enjoyed a multiplayer ice breaker game of Geo Guessr, a browser-based world geography game in which players must deduce locations from Google Street View imagery. Group games can be a great way to enhance non-verbal, listening and verbal communication skills, three of the the forms of communication skills students will be working to refine this year, among others.

To help better acquaint her sixth grade class with one another and their big new school, Miss Smith took her students on a scavenger hunt to discover places, objects, people, and things about others. For example they located the library and learned someone's favorite book.

Reminder, tomorrow August 18th, PMS Fall Sports Parent Meeting will be held in the auditorium at 5:15 at the middle school! Open house to follow.
