No school on Friday, January 10, because of inclement weather.

The cold weather kept us indoors but recess was still fun anyway. Some played games alone and with others on their iPads. Some used STEM materials to build and others chose to read or do interactive chase games using the smart board.

Way to go! Copper passed the last of his second grade Study Island math topics today. He had been working with determination to achieve this goal!

It was snowing at dismissal and the students really enjoyed their few minutes enjoying the fresh flakes.

It's so hard to learn when it's snowing outside! Quick break to enjoy it

Congrats to Brogan for passing all his Study Island Math topics.

Way to go, 75 Accelerated Reader Points!

These students are crushing their goals in Study Island and Xtra Math. Hard work pays off!!

Happy Holidays!!!! Enjoy Winter break!!!

On the last day before break our class elves brought back extra magic to allow students to hug them before they head back to the North Pole.

A special tradition in my classroom is having stockings for each student. They bring goodies for each other and also draw pictures and write notes for their classmates. The students love it all, but the most treasured are the special notes! Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Happy Holidays from this wonderful group of students who surely made Santa's nice list.

Mrs. Lubbers is a valuable part of our Garfield family. Last week she visited many of our classes and taught the kids about the tradition of pomander balls. She also read them a story.

When Fastbridge testing was complete, students celebrated their hard work by getting to decorate their desk on a Friday afternoon. The decorations only stayed up a week but the students loved personalizing their space!

Mrs. Tierney was so excited this week to be able to eat lunch with former students who are now third graders. We had a great time reminiscing and catching up. What a treat spending time with these kids! I'm so proud of their accomplishments in third grade!

December was full of accomplishments, indoor recess fun and math activities that doubled as Christmas crafts. We also had a few birthdays thrown in as well that made for some yummy treats.

For our winter party the kids played board games and was able to rotate to a new game every 20 minutes. The sounds of laughter filled our classroom and my heart.
