What a fun two day!! We read "Balloons over Broadway" and how the big balloons made it into the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade. We decorated our balloon and then walked around the school to see all the creative balloons. We finished our week with a "Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving" and enjoyed the same "thanksgiving dinner" that consisted of Jelly beans, popcorn, pretzels, toast, and ice cream sundaes! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Students at Garfield read the book "Balloons Over Broadway," the story of the marionette maker who helped start the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Students then decorated their own balloons and put them on display in the halls for everyone to parade past and see.

A little friendly rivalry in Mrs. Tierney's class led to a discussion of reasons why someone may choose a favorite team to support. We talked about proximity, teams' stats and other factors that lead to people choosing a favorite team.
