Twinning

Congrats to Zoey and Evelyn. They both have passed all their Math Study Island topics.

The winners of the great Turkey Hunt at Garfield! Each adult that found a turkey received a $10 gift card.

Mrs. Strode's class used skittles to create their own bar graphs to wrap up our graph unit in math.

Such a fun home Thanksgiving activity! These students in Mrs. Jacquinot's class did a great job disguising their turkeys! Thank you Mr. Medina for the idea!

Mrs. Jacquinot and Mr. Medina partnered their students together to work on math problems. These mathematicians had a blast working on double digit addition with 3 and 4 addends.

Thanks to this very helpful Viking. She offered to help Mr. Medina's class assemble their elves. Thank you Charleigh for all your help!!

We voted!

Third grade students are practicing their test taking strategies and earning strategy bucks while they are using their strategies! Mrs. Waun's students were able to cash in their bucks this afternoon. Thank you PTO for sponsoring our store!!

Mrs.Waun's class ended their chapter book, Chocolate Fever, by having a chocolate fever Friday.

After learning about voting, the importance of voting, requirements of registering to vote, Garfield third grade students performed their "civic duty" Friday, filling out ballots, and casting their vote for one of three candy candidates listed on the Candy Election ballots.

Garfield students considered the plight of turkeys this time of year. They wrote about if they were a turkey how they would disguise themselves to escape landing on someone's dinner table. They then got to create their disguise on paper. These turkeys are definitely safe!

Mr. Medina's class joins Mrs. Jacquinot's class to work on their reading and social studies group Thanksgiving scavenger hunt. These little turkeys had a great afternoon of learning!

Congratulations to this little Viking on completing her Xtra math addition!! Way to go kiddo!

Love when a past student chooses to come back as a reward! And it's extra fun, when cousins get to hang out for a bit!

On Friday students had the opportunity to show some gratitude for the veterans of armed forces who walked and rode in the Parsons Veterans Day parade. Students learned about veterans in class and made signs to show their support and thanks.

Kiddos proudly waved their American flags during the Veteran's Day Parade.

In Mrs. Jacquinot's class, we finished up our week of Poetry with writing a poem!

Garfield students and teachers lined Main Street to give their support and thank Veterans during Friday's Veteran's Day Parade in downtown Parsons.

Children hold a special flag that was flown by a military pilot over another country where troops were stationed that Garfield students sent care packages to a few years ago. The flag was sent in thanks for the gifts. The Veterans Day Parade was the perfect time to bring it out.
