Hard Work Pays Off... Go VIKES!
Take a minute to thank our wonderful kitchen staff who serve our USD 503 Vikings every weekday!
We learned about chemical and physical changes in science this week and finished the lesson with eating pancakes (chemical reaction).
During science, Mr. Holmes' class created models of how fossils are formed in layers of sediment over time, and then we got to excavate our own fossils!

Reading aloud with partners this morning in Mrs. Shields' class.
We are learning about states of matter and physical and chemical reactions in science. We performed a chemical change when we made pancakes. We observed the states of matter with our root beer floats.
While learning about mixtures and solutions, students in Mrs. Brimm's class got a little exercise! If students believed the picture on the screen was a mixture, they did jumping jacks. If it was a solution, students did cross crawls. They enjoyed the active lesson!
Thank you to Mrs. Piva for teaching Mr. Holmes' class more about fossils!
September is National Suicide Prevention Month. If you are having suicidal thoughts or are in crisis, free help is available 24/7 from caring counselors through 988 Lifeline. You can call, text, or chat online any time day or night.
Students during Mrs. Shields' math lesson today were taking turns "teaching" the class how to use place value to subtract 3-digit numbers. They rocked it!
Students in Mrs. Brimm's class had a great day at Greenbush. The ladies at Greenbush said these kids had the best manners, always saying please and thank you!
Mrs. Brimm's class enjoyed their day at Greenbush. These students encouraged and helped each other all day! They are an awesome bunch!
In science we are learning about the states of matter. We experimented to see if shaving cream is a solid, liquid or gas. We also experimented to see what liquid took tarnish off of a penny.
After learning about matter, students in Mrs. Brimm's class conducted an experiment and were "alchemist" to determine which liquid turned a dull penny shiny. They were fascinated by the results!
