Spirit Week begins Monday with Pajama Day on Monday!
We created mixtures and solutions in science today.
Can you spot the butterflies camouflaging in our classroom? Mr. Holmes' class started their reading unit on animal adaptations. For our first vocabulary word, camouflaged, we learned about butterflies that blend in to their environments to survive. Then, we made our own!
Some of the students picked fake mustaches out of the treasure chest today.

We learned about chemical and physical changes in science this week and finished the lesson with eating pancakes (chemical reaction).
During science, Mr. Holmes' class created models of how fossils are formed in layers of sediment over time, and then we got to excavate our own fossils!

Reading aloud with partners this morning in Mrs. Shields' class.
We are learning about states of matter and physical and chemical reactions in science. We performed a chemical change when we made pancakes. We observed the states of matter with our root beer floats.
While learning about mixtures and solutions, students in Mrs. Brimm's class got a little exercise! If students believed the picture on the screen was a mixture, they did jumping jacks. If it was a solution, students did cross crawls. They enjoyed the active lesson!
