Guthridge students joined other fourth graders at the Brown-Bishop VFW Post 704 for Americanism Day. Students learned about the history of the U.S. flag and Pledge of Allegiance, and all proper flag etiquette. They also learned about the POW and military branch flags.
Guthridge fifth grade students, dressed in their Halloween costumes, visited Woodridge Estates on Halloween, and received latex gloves filled with candy from residents there.

Hard Work Pays Off...Go Vikes!
Students in Mrs. Brimm's class worked in groups of three to create a Halloween monster. After drawing their monster, students took turns writing and created one story about their monster. Loved their creativity!
It's "Tell Us Tuesday" in Miss Jones' class! Students share something with the class to practice speaking and listening skills.
Jade received a positive office referral from Ms. Taylore for working hard in interventions and for helping other students understand a concept!
We learned about bone density while participating in a Greenbush Zoom Lab.
After learning about Earth's rotation and how we can use the Sun and shadows to tell time, students in Mrs. Brimm's class created a Shadow Clock and practiced telling time using flashlights!
Ms. Deweese's Life Skills class having a relaxing morning with Mrs. Shields in art painting some pumpkins after listening to a story called The Runaway Pumpkin. Students also learned how the primary colors transition into secondary, which makes for some great autumn colors.

When reading about the Midwest Region, Mr. Holmes and Mrs. Gordon's classes learned that this region produces wheat. Wheat is ground into flour, and we use flour in pancakes! So, we ate pancakes!
